Operation Chill Returns: Glenview Police Giving Out Slurpees To Kids
GLENVIEW, IL — Local police agencies will be handing out tickets to kids again this summer, but not the kind they typically write up. For the 29th year, 7-Eleven is partnering with police departments to distribute free Slurpee coupons to children through the Operation Chill community service program. The Glenview Police Department will be participating in the program that started in 1995 in Philadelphia. Since its inception, more than 24 million Slurpee coupons have been given out as part of Operation Chill. Police will engage with young people and give out coupons for the popular drinks when they see them doing good deeds, constructive activities and acts of kindness. Each coupon can be redeemed for a small Slurpee drink at participating 7-Eleven stores. To learn more about Operation Chill, visit here.
