Country music legend Dolly Parton recently shared the tragic loss of her husband Carl Dean with fans. In her post, Parton also included a nod to one of her famous songs. Many fans also notably took the moment to share further words of support for the country star.
Dolly Parton’s Instagram Account Initially Shared The News Of Her Husband’s Passing
Parton initially shared the news of her husband’s passing on Instagram. At the time, she noted, “Carl Dean, husband of Dolly Parton, passed away March 3rd in Nashville at the age of 82. He will be laid to rest in a private ceremony with immediate family attending. He was survived by his siblings Sandra and Donnie.”
“[As Dolly shared,] ‘Carl and I spent many wonderful years together. Words can’t do justice to the love we shared for over 60 years. Thank you for your prayers and sympathy.’ The family has asked for privacy during this difficult time.”

As previously reported, Dean’s cause of death was not immediately revealed. According to The U.S. Sun, Dean had been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease in 2019.
Since the news has come out, many fans have shared their love and support for the country music star. Parton took to Instagram to thank these fans in a special post. Notably, she also included a nod to one of her famous songs.
Dolly Parton Had A ‘Love Note’ To Share With Fans
“This is a love note to family, friends, and fans. Thank you for all the messages, cards, and flowers that you’ve sent to pay your respects for the loss of my beloved husband Carl.”
“I can’t reach out personally to each of you but just know it has meant the world to me. He is in God’s arms now and I am okay with that. I will always love you, Dolly.”
Notably, the final line is in reference to Dolly Parton’s famous song, “I Will Always Love You.” The original song came out in 1974 and originally focused on her parting ways with her business partner and mentor Porter Wagoner to pursue a solo career. Over the years, however, the song has often been used to represent romantic love.
With Parton’s most recent post, many fans also similarly took to the comments to share their support with the star during this time. A few also took note of her famous songs. Some comments included:
