SPS Technologies Fire Community Meeting Planned For March 11

ABINGTON TOWNSHIP, PA —A community meeting has been set up for next Tuesday for residents and officials to address the recent SPS Technologies fire.The Greater Glenside Civic Association —in partnership with Abington Township Commissioners Matt Vahey (Ward 12) and Bill Bole (Ward 13) —said the Glenside SPS Community Meeting will take place from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. on March 11 at the Glenside United Church of Christ at 2160 Wharton Rd. (Doors open at 6:15 p.m.)Officials said the meeting is a "community conversation" to discuss the impact of the SPS Technologies fire along with the concerns and ideas of neighbors as the township moves forward."Our goal is to facilitate a productive and respectful discussion that reflects the highest priorities of our community," officials said.Residents are asked to submit a survey of topics they would like to see addressed. The survey must be completed by Friday.
