Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck‘s second go at relationship was supposed to be this fairytale romance, similar to what happens in typical romantic films. However, despite trying to make it as ‘fairytale-like’ as possible, the duo failed to escape from the reality of their life and relationship and are now heading for divorce.

After Lopez filed for divorce on their second marriage anniversary, the former couple could not seem to agree on their financial assets since they have no prenuptial agreement in place. As per the details obtained by InTouch,
They had no prenup, which complicates things, and what’s at stake are the assets they acquired together during their marriage — the $60 million house they’ve listed for $68 million, and the production company Artists Equity Ben formed with Matt Damon two years ago, which Jennifer also has a stake in...
While the 68 million dollar house is certainly at stake here, best friends Affleck and Damon’s production company, set up in November 2022, has found itself to be one of the major causes of contention between the now ex-couple.

Ben Affleck and Matt Damon took their childhood friendship to the next level when they set up their production company Artists Equity in November 2022. Backed by RedBird Capital Partners, a private investment firm, the company even worked on the production of Jennifer Lopez’s The Greatest Love Story Never Told.

And now, amid Affleck and Lopez’s divorce battle, the actress also wants a share of the company, putting it at risk. As for Affleck, this is where he draws the line, for he is ready to give his ex her share of the money spent on their $68 million house but is not ready to give her a stake in Artist Equity, as per the source close to InTouch.
[Lopez] put down the bulk of cash for their gigantic mansion, plus paid for many of the renovations. She wants to get her investment back… [Affleck] is willing to give in to some extent — but he doesn’t think Jennifer has a right to a cut from future Artists Equity projects. They just want a resolution soon.
Despite them trying to reach a resolution as fast as possible, given the complications of the matter it doesn’t seem like Affleck and Lopez would be able to reach one soon. With so much at stake, only time will tell how much longer their divorce proceedings will drag out.
