Shopper begs Walmart to ‘trust’ customers over ’embarrassing’ self-checkout rule prompting 1-star review every time

WALMART has been begged by an upset customer to stop one specific checkout rule that doesn’t “trust” shoppers.
The confused customer took to the social media platform X to ask the iconic American chain to do better.

The post from Tuesday said: “Dear @Walmart please trust me to scan my own items if you’re not going to hire anybody to work a register.
“Stop asking for my receipt at the door.
“This is why I give you a 1 star review every time I use your self checkout. #Embarassing #DoBetter”
The shopper essentially asked Walmart to stop checking receipts on the door which is done to make sure the customer paid for everything.
This is to ensure Walmart is properly compensated for its products on shelves.
Walmart has not yet replied directly to the post.
The US Sun has recently reported on another highlighted issue at Walmart, this time with kids toys.
Customers have called for the chain to put a limit on how many kids toys you can buy at once as the Easter holidays near.
A shopper, known as Chris, shared a picture on X from inside a supermarket showing Pokémon cards on display.
They claimed that one shopper walked out with 50 items in their cart.
They said they managed to snap up the items before store workers had finished putting out the display.
Chris said in the post: “If you are restocking these, can you please implement some sort of limit so more Pokemon fans can get them?!?”
Other users shared before-and-after photos from inside a Walmart store in Redlands, California.
The before picture showed packs of collector cards in the store, but the snap taken afterward showed the Pokemon cards had gone.
The shopper claimed the cards “got eaten up.”
In January, Walmart shoppers complained that Pokémon cards were snatched from the shelves at two minutes past 5am, per an X thread.
It is not common for retailers to place item limits on something unless the product itself is known to be running low, such as eggs for example.
The US Sun has reported on the product restrictions put in place on the kitchen essential at other massive companies like Costco.
Customers there were seen forced into two lines, one for people who wanted to buy eggs and one for people who didn’t.

In the case of the children’s toys, it might be hard to place a limit on how many customers can buy in one go.
Walmart has not confirmed plans to impose restrictions on Pokemon collector cards.
But they are not the only major retailer in the US struggling with this problem.
Shoppers at Target were left shocked at how quickly the cards ran out there, too.
Slamming the retailer on X, they claimed their experience was the “worst.”
“I have had items in my cart DOZENS of times over the past few days,” the shopper said.
“I have yet to complete one purchase, all stolen by bots in less than 30 seconds.
“Zero care for the consumer whatsoever.”
