Tennessee basketball got the final piece to the 2024-25 roster puzzle this weekend when North Florida transfer guard Chaz Lanier officially committed to Rick Barnes and the program. Why did he elect to spend his final season in Knoxville and how much better did this roster get (on paper) compared to this time a year ago?
The biggest recruiting weekend of the year for Tennessee happened this past weekend with the annual 865 Live. Who was on campus and how did Tennessee show for a number of highly-touted prospects?
Tony Vitello’s Tennessee baseball team took home the Southeastern Conference Tournament crown for the fifth time in program history over the weekend. How did this team get better and what’s the outlook going into postseason play?

Grant Ramey on Tennessee Hoops, Chaz Lanier
“Yeah, that’s huge. I mean, you had to have it and Tennessee went out and got it. I think it says something about Tennessee to kind of be the favorite from the moment he entered the portal to withstanding some pushes from other programs. Obviously, most notably, Kentucky. Find a way to get the kid here and to get a done – to get the deal on the table and get everything figured out and then get it finalized and finished. I think it says something about Chaz Lanier that he left money on the table. He could have gone to BYU for a lot more money, it sounds like. He could have gone to Kentucky for what sounds like more money. But he is a Nashville kid and wanted to be at home in Tennessee. I think it says something about him to leave money on the table in this day and age. To not go to the highest bidder or to come here and be that missing piece that that we’ve been talking about the last few weeks. It’s huge. Tennessee had to get it done and Tennessee got it done. Credit to the Vols for making it happen.”
