Miramar Plaza Shooting, Suspect Arrested for Murder and Attempted Murder

A man has been placed under arrest following a shooting that occurred at a business plaza in Miramar, leaving one person dead and another injured. The suspect, identified as Darryle Everett, 37, was detained by police yesterday for his alleged role in last month's violence. According to authorities, he is now facing charges that include murder and attempted murder.
On June 25, near the premises of Coaster Furniture at 10700 Enterprise Way, chaos ensued when Everett is said to have suddenly opened fire. One onlooker, present at a nearby food truck, recounted to Local 10 News that at least one victim was "standing in line at an outside food truck when they were hit." The aftermath of the shooting was a business community on lockdown, as police units, with K-9s in tow, scoured to search for the shooter, initially to no avail.
The seriousness of the incident prompted an expedited medical response, with both victims requiring urgent care for their gunshot wounds. Ultimately, 58-year-old Devon Blake succumbed to his injuries, while the second victim, who was merely grazed by a bullet, survived. The second victim has been referred to as an innocent bystander in this violent and tragic affair. Everett and Blake, according to a statement obtained by WSVN, were known to each other, though the specifics of their relationship and the motive behind the shooting remain undisclosed by police.
Everett is presently being held without bond at Broward Main Jail, with the weighty charges of one count each of premeditated murder and attempted murder.
