ORANGEBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– SC Highway Patrol said two people were killed Saturday morning in a collision involving five vehicles on I-26.
The collision happened around 11:20 a.m. on the westbound side of I-26, Master Trooper Gary Miller said.
SCHP said a Honda CRV was traveling east on I-26 near mile marker 156, approximately six miles north of Bowman, when it went off the right side of the road and its driver overcorrected and lost control.
The vehicle then went to the left of center through the median and hit a Chrysler van head-on, Miller continued.
Three other vehicles, a GMC Denali, an Acura sedan and a GMC pickup, all traveling west on I-26, were damaged by debris during the collision, he also said.
The drivers of the Honda and Chrysler were killed during the collision.
