North Knoxville Home Declared Total Loss After Devastating Blaze, No Injuries Reported

Disaster struck a North Knoxville neighborhood early this morning when a home was engulfed in flames, leading to a total loss of the structure. According to the WVLT-TV report, the Knoxville Fire Department responded to the blaze shortly after 3:30 a.m., arriving at the scene to find the 1400 block of West 5th Avenue filled with smoke and fire emanating from the home's attic.
Firefighters attempted an initial entry to quell the flames, making their way into the residence, as Timothy Woods, the Knoxville Fire Department’s health and safety officer, revealed in a news release obtained by WATE. However, due to heavy fire soon after arrival, the crews quickly withdrew, and were forced to fight the fire from outside of the burning home.
The inferno was tamed after almost an hour of firefighting efforts, but not before the house had been declared a total loss. While the blaze's cause has yet to be reported. No injuries were reported among the home's two occupants who were able to evacuate, nor among the firefighters tackling the blaze, according to information shared by NewsTalk 98.7. The investigation into the cause of the fire continues.
