Airline loyalty program promotions (August 2024)

Airline loyalty programs can offer trip discounts on certain dates, the chance to earn more miles for future travel and deals to rack up points toward elite status. Below are some of the offers we found for August.
Bonus Aeroplan points when you visit Canada
If you’re considering heading to Canada for some leaf-peeping or maybe a ski trip, Air Canada’s Aeroplan has a promotion for you.

Earn 6,000 bonus Aeroplan points — enough for a one-way short-haul flight within North America — when you take one round-trip or two one-way Air Canada flights from the U.S. to Canada.
Register for this promotion here. Book by Sept. 1 and travel between Sept. 1 and March 31.

JetBlue Mosaic status match
JetBlue just launched a “Match to Mosaic” promotion, allowing travelers who hold elite status with another airline — Alaska, American, Delta or United — to earn comparable status with JetBlue Mosaic.

See the offer page to determine what Mosaic status you could get based on your current airline status. You must have earned your competitor status via flight or card activity; matched, transferred, or promotional elite status is not eligible for a JetBlue Mosaic status match.
Submit your status match application here. You’ll need to provide a screenshot of your frequent flyer program profile showing your full name and proof of status. If you’re matching to Mosaic 2, you’ll also need a photo or screenshot of your most recent boarding pass or flight confirmation email showing your status.
Once approved, you’ll receive Mosaic 1 or 2 status for three months. During that time, you can extend or increase your status by earning the required number of “tiles” through activities like flying on JetBlue, booking JetBlue Vacations packages and spending on JetBlue credit cards.

Hotel loyalty programs occasionally offer discounted stays, ways to earn extra points and deals at various properties. We collected some of this month’s best deals below.
Double Best Western points around the world
No matter where you’re headed this fall, Best Western’s latest promotion could make your stay doubly rewarding.

Earn double points on each qualified stay at any Best Western branded hotel globally.
For more information, log into your Best Western Rewards account, click the blue button in the upper right corner, and select “Special Offers.” On the next page, click “Offers” under “Manage Your Account” (not the “Offers” button in the top toolbar). This offer will then appear in the “North America” tab.
To register your account, check the “Register” box to the right of the offer. Then, book and complete your qualifying stay between Sep. 3 and Nov. 18.

Up to $200 Marriott credit on award stays
If cooler temperatures have you dreaming of a beach escape, Marriott Bonvoy is offering a hotel credit on stays of at least five nights in the Caribbean and Latin America. According to Marriott’s offer page, the hotel credit varies by property.

Redeem your Marriott Bonvoy points for five consecutive nights at a participating hotel or resort in the Caribbean and Latin America, and you’ll receive up to a $200 hotel credit per stay. You’ll also get your fifth night free as a Marriott Bonvoy member.
Book by Oct. 1 with promo code MRW. Stay between Aug. 27 and Nov. 19.

Triple points at Hyatt Homes & Hideaways
For travelers who prefer a little extra space or a full kitchen, there are plenty of ways to book vacation rentals with points. One of them is Homes & Hideaways, Hyatt’s vacation rental platform, where you can earn triple World of Hyatt points this fall.

Earn triple World of Hyatt points per dollar spent on eligible room rates at properties booked through Homes & Hideaways by World of Hyatt. Since Hyatt typically awards 5 base points per dollar, this would give you 15 points per dollar, in addition to any points bonus you’d receive as an elite member.
Book and complete your stay by Nov. 3.

Targeted American Express Offer at WorldHotels
We found this offer on The Platinum Card® from American Express:

Get a one-time $150 statement credit when you spend a minimum of $750 on one or more purchases on room rate and room charges at select WorldHotels in the U.S. and internationally.
As with all Amex Offers, you must register your card and use your registered eligible card to make the purchase to earn a credit.
This offer expires Sept. 30.

Ongoing travel deals

Enroll in a Sixt rental car status match with multiple airline and hotel program partners.
Enroll in an Air France-KLM Flying Blue status match opportunity if you’re a resident of an eligible country (including the U.S., the U.K., Canada, Germany and Spain; others can be found here). Successful enrollment in the status match is contingent upon submitting an application, proving equivalent elite status in one of 18 eligible airline loyalty programs and paying a fee determined by your status match level. There is no publicly available end date for this promotion.
Earn bonus World of Hyatt points for attending a virtual timeshare presentation. You must reside in an eligible U.S. state and meet an annual income requirement, among other requirements. You must request information to learn more about this promotion. There is no publicly available end date for this offer.
Some IHG One Rewards members are being targeted for a promotion to earn 12,000 bonus points by staying twice in 60 days. There is no minimum night requirement as long as you spend $30 each stay. See if you’re eligible and register for the promotion here.
Earn double Wyndham Rewards points at these new hotels. You don’t need to register for this promotion, and there is no published end date.
You can earn double or triple Accor Live Limitless points (depending on your status level) when you stay at least two nights at an Accor property across Paris and Ile-de-France. Be sure to activate this deal first, then book by Aug. 30 and stay by Sept. 30.
Get 4,000 bonus Virgin points when you link your Virgin Atlantic Flying Club and Virgin Red accounts. Check your email to see if you’re targeted; if so, Virgin Atlantic will have sent you a promo code. Then log in to your Virgin Red account, link your Flying Club account and enter your promo code under “My Account” by Aug. 30.
Japan Airlines is offering two promotions on select routes between Japan and Europe: Get up to a 50% discount when you book an award ticket with Mileage Bank miles, and earn double miles on paid flights with JL flight numbers. To take advantage of either promotion, you must book by Aug. 31 and travel by Feb. 28. Find more details here.
Earn 500 to 2,500 bonus Accor Live Limitless points per two-night stay at participating brands. Register here and book by Aug. 31, then complete your stay by Sept. 30.
Earn up to 10,000 Lufthansa Miles & More bonus miles on your Hertz rental. Book your car here by Aug. 31 and complete your rental by Oct. 31.
Earn 24,000 bonus Marriott Bonvoy points for every qualifying stay of two-plus nights at a Homes & Villas by Marriott vacation rental.
