SALUDA, S.C. (WOLO) — The Saluda County Coroner’s Office says they have completed its investigation into 4 fatalities that were reported during Hurricane Helene.
The coroner’s office says it has been determined that one of the previously reported at-home deaths was not directly related to the storm’s impact.
The individual experienced a medical episode during the timeframe of the storm, but the death was not caused by the hurricane itself, says the coroner’s office.
Two Circle Fire Department firefighters lost their lives in a single-vehicle crash; and another Saluda County resident died due to a fallen tree.
