Minnesota Vikings' Jordan Addison Arrested on Suspicion of DUI Near LAX
Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jordan Addison found himself on the wrong side of the law Friday night, arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after he was discovered asleep in his vehicle, according to California Highway Patrol. CBS News in Los Angeles reported that the incident occurred on the westbound 105 Freeway near Sepulveda Boulevard, where Addison's white Rolls-Royce was seen blocking the No. 1 lane just after 11 p.m.
CHP officers completed a DUI investigation following the discovery, which culminated in the 22-year-old athlete's arrest at 11:35 p.m., as CBS News reported. Despite an uncertain future looming over him, Addison was released a couple of hours later, around 1:36 a.m. Saturday, the CHP added. This comes one year after Addison had been cited for speed and reckless driving in Minnesota.
The Vikings were quick to address the unfolding situation, stating, "We are aware of Jordan Addison's arrest this past Friday and are currently gathering more information regarding the incident." The team's concern over their player's conduct echoes across the NFL, where personal conduct is increasingly scrutinized.
Prior to his draft into the NFL, Addison had a standout career as a consensus All-American and Fred Biletnikoff Award winner during his tenure at Pittsburgh, before spending a season at USC. FOX LA mentions that in his first season at the Vikings, Addison impressed with 70 receptions, covering 911 yards and scoring 10 touchdowns. This potential on the field now stands in stark contrast to his off-field issues, which have recently included the arrest and an earlier incident involving a Lamborghini Urus.
