Tyson Fury breaks silence on Oleksandr Usyk rematch after boozy night out sparked concerns
Tyson Fury has spoken for the first time since he was escorted out of a bar in Morecambe last week to dismiss any suggestion he will pull out of his scheduled rematch with Oleksandr Usyk. The 'Gypsy King' lost his undefeated record against Usyk last month in the first heavyweight unification fight of the century. After dominating the early rounds, Fury then backed off as Usyk took a new approach and the Ukrainian came close to knocking his opponent out at one stage.Usyk's hand was held aloft via a split points decision after the fight with Fury immediately announcing after that he planned to trigger his rematch clause. It was later announced that the fight would take place on December 21, giving both boxers a few more months before returning to training camp. However, Fury reportedly raised concerns among his close friends after a boozy night out in Morecambe last week. The 35-year-old had to be escorted out by security and was filmed falling to the ground outside.Former British boxer Johnny Nelson even went as far to suggest it was a sign that Fury was 'struggling to deal' with his loss to Usyk.He said: "I don’t believe Tyson will fight Oleksandr Usyk next, or again.“As long as Usyk’s around, he ain’t gonna box. He can’t get his head around it."I don’t think he’ll go through that again. He can smile and joke but it’s a big deal.”However, Fury has now moved to quell any rumours that he's thinking of pulling out of the rematch with Usyk.He posted a clip of himself hitting the bag in the gym along with a message for Usyk."On December 21st in Riyadh, in the heart of the kingdom, the king will reclaim his throne and become undisputed," he said."Usyk, I’m coming for you!LATEST SPORT NEWS: England fans 'could be sacked' in direct warning about Euro 2024 opener against SerbiaTyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk rematch ruled unlikely as Anthony Joshua issued worrying messageGreat Britain end European Athletics Championship with 13 medals as Dina Asher-Smith lands two golds"Get ready for the Gypsy King!
