Andrew Armstrong injury update: Sam Pittman uncertain on Arkansas wide receiver’s status for opener
Ahead of their opener in two days, Arkansas is currently unsure of where the status stands on their leading receiver from last season in Andrew Armstrong.
Sam Pittman noted Armstrong as someone else who was questionable for the Razorbacks in the first game during his press conference on Monday. He said that the ‘Hogs likely wouldn’t know if he’s at his best and ready for the game until it comes on Thursday.

“Probably the only one would be Armstrong, you know, left,” said Pittman. “Whether he is full-speed or not? We’ll have to wait probably until Thursday night to find that out.”
Armstrong has been taking part in practices during the fall in Fayetteville. They just haven’t been done in-total by the receiver according to Pittman.

“He has practiced every day,” said Pittman. “He has practiced every day and just hasn’t really practiced a complete practice.”
Following the first scrimmage toward the start of camp at Arkansas, Armstrong was one of several players who came out of it with an injury. His was a slight hamstring issue that he has been dealing with over the month of August.
2023 was Armstrong’s first with the team after a four-year career at Texas A&M Commerce. In his debut as a full-time starter with the Razorbacks, he led the offense in receiving with 56 catches for 764 yards and five touchdowns. With that, he was the leading receiver in two-thirds of the games last season.
Armstrong was still listed as a starter with the release of Arkansas’ depth chart yesterday. Still, it seems like his official standing is a little more questionable until they take the field on Thursday against Arkansas-Pine Bluff.
“We’ll see where he is after today,” said Pittman.
Arkansas releases depth chart for opener vs. Arkansas-Pine Bluff
On Thursday, Arkansas-Pine Bluff will come to Fayetteville to play the Razorbacks in their first game of the season.
Ahead of that clash, Arkansas has released their depth chart for the opener in week one. It includes ORs at running back, left guard, and at one spot apiece at defensive end, cornerback, and safety for the ‘Hogs.
