Jaylen Brown’s Traumatic Exchange With Teacher Gets Excavated By Fans: “Look Me Up In The Cobb County Jail”
Boston Celtics player Jaylen Brown is currently on Cloud Nine! With the help of Jayson Tatum, he was recently able to secure a fourth consecutive win against the Indiana Pacers and take the franchise to the NBA Finals. If that wasn’t enough, Brown’s contribution allowed him to be named as the MVP of the Eastern Conference Finals barely a few minutes ago. The player has come a long way in his journey as an NBA player. Bearing this in mind, Celtics fans have dug up an old tweet that is now gaining traction for making as wrong of a prediction as anyone could.
Back in 2014, Brown was still a teenager who was attending the Wheeler High School in Georgia. On one occasion, he took to his official X (then Twitter) account to share a tweet, claiming that “My teacher said she will look me up in the Cobb county jail in 5 years .. Wow”.

5 years after the tweet was posted, the player was well into his third season with the Celtics, having already been named to the All-NBA Second Rookie Team. It was at that time when the comment first started to gain traction. When the player was asked about the same, he replied that such instances continue to remain unforgettable, and that Brown only used it as a fuel to establish his future growth. While the teacher’s remark sent Brown “in shock” and “surprised” him, he did not choose to reveal the name to the media. Furthermore, after the passage of more than half a decade, he feels that he does not blame the teacher anymore over her stance.
“Sometimes, because the education system is poor, especially in Georgia, sometimes teachers have too many kids and not enough help,” said Brown during an interview. “I’m not blaming the one teacher.”
Move an additional 5 years after the interview, and we come to the present. Till now, Brown has also become a 3x NBA All-Star and recently earned his first MVP title in any category. By the time the month of June comes to a close, the player may have even secured his first ever championship ring.
NBA World sends their congratulations as Jaylen Brown admits “I never win sh*t”
Jaylen Brown’s latest achievement has elevated him to a new status within the NBA circle. After all, it’s not every day that an individual wins the Eastern Conference Finals, let alone be named as the MVP of that category. This was a big feat, and certain members from the basketball fraternity wanted to remind him of the same.
Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James was amongst the first people to send his congratulations. Taking to his official X account, he tagged Brown and wrote “Keep going Young (crown emoji)! RESPECT!”. Detroit Pistons legend Isiah Thomas also sent his flowers by commenting “Congratulations @FCHWPO @celtics let it be known!”
As for the man of the hour himself, Jaylen Brown was elated. With the ‘Larry Bird ECF MVP’ trophy placed beside him, the player shared his reaction during the post-game presser by stating “I wasn’t expecting it at all. I never win sh*t. I was just happy that we won. And give credit to Indiana. They played us tough. I know people think that Indiana wasn’t a good team or whatever the case be”.
