Ten Republican governors signed a U.S. Supreme Court brief arguing that “just as States have the flexibility to regulate on medical marijuana,” they should also be able to “choose how to approach transgender medical procedures for children.”
A Kansas Department of Revenue Official testified at a hearing of the legislature’s Special Committee on Medical Marijuana that it would be “easier to implement” recreational cannabis legalization right away instead of creating a medical-focused program first.
A new poll shows that Massachusetts residents are evenly split on the psychedelics legalization initiative on the November ballot. A separate recent survey found likely voters slightly against the measure.
The advocacy group Doctors for Drug Policy Reform is pushing states and cities to invest funds from settlements with opioid companies into supporting safe consumption sites for illegal drugs, saying they can “save lives, improve public health and advance racial equity.”
A new scientific review concludes that cannabis has “proved to be a promising plant” as an insecticide against disease-carrying bugs “in terms of mortality and has shown effects on insect fertility, birth rates and adult emergence.”
