Banning Woman ID'd As Victim Of Palm Springs Crash: Coroner

BANNING, CA — A 77-year-old Banning woman killed in a two-vehicle freeway crash near Palm Springs was publicly identified Tuesday.Shortly before noon Monday, a crash occurred on Highway 111 near Overture Drive, according to California Highway Patrol officer David Torres. Cobb was driving a white Mazda southbound when a black Ford pick-up truck crossed in front of her vehicle. The Mazda, occupied by Cobb, broadsided the pick-up, Torres said.She was taken to Desert Regional Medical Center for further treatment and died less than three hours later, according to the coroner's report.The driver of the Ford reported having some pain but suffered no serious injuries.
