Alaskan Bush People star Bear Brown is one of the most active members of the Brown family today. He likes to share survival tips in the wilderness. The 37-year-old is currently living in a rental house in Washington State. He and his family are saving up to purchase a property in Alaska. However, some fans can’t help but recall “Browntown,” which was supposedly the Brown family’s most ambitious project. Keep reading to see Bear’s statements regarding the subject.
Alaskan Bush People: What Is The Browntown?
The Browntown was introduced to the Alaskan Bush People fans as the family’s off-grid homestead. It was the area where they lived in Hoonah, Alaska, where they documented their survival in the freezing landscape for many seasons. Browntown wasn’t a designated town. Instead, it was a collection of cabins and other structures built by the family and locals using materials from the wild.

Bear Shares What Happened To Browntown
Bear Brown recently took to social media to answer questions regarding the family’s Browntown. According to the Alaskan Bush People star, he’s happy to get asked about the question, adding that it was a home they were building in Alaska that was supposed to be their “forever home.” Bear said that was a “very expensive” piece of property, so they were actually leasing it during that time. But before they were able to pay it off completely, Ami Brown was diagnosed with cancer.
The Brown family left the property in 2017 and prioritized Ami’s medical needs. As a result, the family had to let go of the lease, and Browntown was eventually returned to its original owners. Bear also finds it “crazy” that he hasn’t been to Alaska or the Browntown for over five years. However, he’s planning to make a trip to Browntown sometime in the future to see if the structures they had built still stand, especially his tree house. He believes it may no longer be habitable if it is left unmaintained.
Alaskan Bush People: Things Continue To Get Chaotic In The Family
The Brown family has been through a chaotic situation in recent months. Rain Brown and her husband, Josiah Lorton, were recently arrested for burglary. They allegedly stole expensive items from Josiah’s uncle, Jason. Rain pleaded guilty and will have a court hearing this May. Noah also reported to authorities that Rain and Josiah were allegedly letting Ami use meth and drink alcohol amid her deteriorating health.

Ami Brown has been back and forth to the ICU due to health complications. She was recently cleared, but fans worry that her health will worsen if she continues to stay by Rain’s side. Meanwhile, Noah has expressed his plans to live in Alaska, away from his ex-wife and kids. This resulted in backlash, as many Alaskan Bush People fans wanted Noah to take responsibility for his family, even with his complicated situation with Rhain.
