Silvio Franco Peralta Charged with First-Degree Murder and Evidence Tampering in Tampa Homicide Case

Tampa Police have charged 35-year-old Silvio Franco Peralta in a recent homicide on N Packwood Ave. According to City of Tampa website, officers responded to a call at approximately 2:59 p.m. on July 13, where they discovered a man with upper body trauma who was pronounced dead at the scene. The investigation by the Tampa Police detectives uncovered that this incident was connected to another homicide, investigated by Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, with a female victim.
The narrative took a turn when Peralta allegedly admitted to detectives that he had visited the Packwood residence to seek help in disposing of the weapon and other property related to the earlier crime. A struggle ensued during which Peralta reported that the male victim pulled a firearm. However, the evidence collected contradicts his claim. Peralta has been charged with one felony count of first-degree murder, tampering with physical evidence, and two counts of armed burglary.
Peralta's purported confession and subsequent altercation led to his arrest after he fled the scene. He was subsequently detained by deputies from the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office. Information on Hillsborough's related case remains under their jurisdiction, and inquiries are directed to their office.
Now in custody, Peralta was booked into Orient Road Jail, with the charges piling up to shape a grim legal battle ahead. The impact of the crimes has left the Tampa community searching for answers, as two families grieve and a neighborhood grapples with the violence that occurred on what was once a quiet street. For further details on the prior related incident, the public is encouraged to reach out to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.
