Man accused of attempted kidnapping in Littleton has arraignment postponed

An arraignment hearing for the man who allegedly attempted to kidnap a young girl while riding her bike in Littleton in April was postponed until Sept. 29 to allow more time for case resolution discussions.
Judge Laqunya Baker granted the defense’s request for the postponement during a hearing on July 28 at the Arapahoe County Justice Center in Centennial.
The case stems from an April 19 incident during which Andrew Salazar, 32, was arrested for allegedly attempting to grab a juvenile female riding her bike in a neighborhood near downtown Littleton. According to court documents, the girl screamed and Salazar let go. Police later reported the victim sustained minor injuries.
During the July 28 hearing, Salazar’s defense also renewed its motion — first filed on June 6 — requesting restrictions on media coverage, citing concerns about online commentary and potential pretrial publicity.
Prosecutor Kathleen Tierney objected, arguing it was premature to limit press access. Baker agreed, ruling that no restrictions would be imposed at this time, but noted that any special media requests — such as photo and video courtroom access — would be considered carefully, especially given the age of the victim.
Alleged Littleton kidnapping suspect Andrew Salazar is set for a Sept. 29 arraignment date
Salazar remains in custody on a $100,000 cash or surety bond.
