Target launches partnership that will see new brands appear on website – but there are perks for in-store shoppers
TARGET has signed a new deal with a huge e-commerce site to give shoppers a bigger range of products to buy.
Target will work with Shopify to launch new and trendier brands on its site, including goods from smaller labels.

This partnership started on Monday, June 24.
The discount retailer revealed that brands who work with Shopify will be able to apply to join Target Plus.
Target Plus is a program that allows third-party retailers to list and sell their items on Target’s website.
Shopify is a site that could allow anybody to create an e-commerce page.
This has meant the platform has been used by many smaller and up-and-coming businesses.
Target revealed that this deal was intended to offer its customers new options from a range of new and highly curated boutiques and items.
“The new partnership with Shopify will expand Target Plus through a hand-selected assortment of new and on-trend products and brands like True Classic, Caden Lane and more, giving consumers even more options to explore at affordable prices and with exceptional quality,” the retailer said in a statement.
Target has previously used its third-party marketplace to sell an array of popular items.
These have included products viral on TikTok, like the UnBrush, and even premium fashion brands like Coach.
Target’s executive vice president and chief guest experience officer, Cara Sylvester, explained why this new partnership would be exciting for consumers.
“Target Plus invites consumers to explore a curated collection of products from vendors we trust, so they can shop our assortment with confidence,” Sylvester said.
“Our partnership with Shopify extends the breadth of thoughtfully designed and affordable items available to discover and enjoy as part of Target’s distinctive mix of brands shoppers love.”
This partnership will also offer an exciting perk for in-store shoppers.
Target revealed that some popular products discovered through Shopify would be available in physical stores.

This has meant Target fans could notice new items in the coming months.
The financial costs and agreement from this deal have not been shared publically.
Shopify has also partnered with Amazon to offer Prime customers even more benefits, The U.S. Sun has previously reported.
The Buy With Prime app allowed shoppers the ability to buy items sold on Shopify through their Amazon Prime accounts.
This new effort to grow Target Plus has followed other retailers’ work to improve their third-party marketplaces.
Walmart has worked to introduce new sellers and products onto its marketplace.
These efforts have led to a 36% growth for this section of the business in the first quarter of 2024, according to CNBC.
Sites like TikTok Shop and Temu have also taken up large chunks of the grown third-party marketplace market.
