“I quit the DLC because it was too hard”: Just Like Jynxzi, Asmongold Couldn’t Handle the Elden Ring Heat as Unlike Kai Cenat, He Admits Defeat With Shadow of the Erdtree
Elden Ring’s DLC, Shadow of the Erdtree, has proven to be tough even for the veterans like Asmongold. The expansion was released on the 21st of June, and plenty of players have raised complaints about a few balancing issues.
The DLC has pushed many players to their limits, and the prominent Twitch streamer is well-known for his resilience and skill in tackling challenging games. However, even he found himself admitting defeat after multiple attempts to progress through the DLC.
Asmongold Prematurely Gives up on Shadow of the Erdtree
Asmongold needs to git gud.
In one of his latest streams, the streamer confessed that the new content was just too hard for him. Despite his extensive experience with FromSoftware games, the DLC had him throwing in the towel. He expressed frustration at the relentless enemies and tough boss fights, which left him feeling overwhelmed and exhausted.

This sentiment was similar to fellow streamer Jynxzi, who also admitted defeat after countless hours of trying to beat the base game, quitting 49 hours in. Although, Asmongold did finish the base game, just not the DLC.
Jynxzi’s choice to leave Elden Ring after 49 hours highlighted the challenge some players face continuously, but it’s up to them to either push themselves and reap the rewards, or quit and play something else that is more enjoyable to them.

He cited frustration with the difficulty as his primary reason for quitting. This led to mixed reactions. Some viewers empathized, arguing that enjoyment is the most important factor and that there’s no shame in walking away from a game that just isn’t fun for them. Others, however, felt Jynxzi missed the core experience which is the triumph of overcoming defeat and beating the game.
Asmongold’s situation is slightly different. He enjoyed the base game and invested significant hours into it. However, the DLC proved to be a different beast for him. He expressed feeling that the difficulty had become unbalanced, with enemy attacks leaving him with little room for counterplay.
Kai Cenat’s Victory and Endurance Over the Game
Is the final boss of the DLC tougher than Melania?
On the flip side, we have Kai Cenat, who managed to overcome the difficult challenges of the game, despite it being his first FromSoftware game, and pretty much his first game with any sort of real difficulty. Cenat’s strategy involved sheer determination and learning from each failure.

His experience with the base game certainly prepared him for the added difficulties of the DLC. Unlike the other two streamers, Cenat did not back down, even when faced with the most challenging bosses.
His approach was methodical. He studied each boss’s patterns, adapted his strategies, and slowly but surely made his way through the game. His victory wasn’t just about skill but also about his refusal to quit, showcasing an endurance that few can match, which is ultimately the design goal of the game.
FromSoftware’s games have a reputation for being brutally difficult. Elden Ring, with its vast open world and punishing boss fights, is no exception. This very difficulty is what attracts, or deters, many players.
