Exclusive Somm: Cup of Salvation Trailer Previews New Winemaking Documentary
ComingSoon has the exclusive debut of the trailer for Somm: Cup of Salvation, a new documentary about winemaking.
Somm: Cup of Salvation is a new documentary about winemaking that follows a father and daughter who attempt to revive ancient grapes in Armenia and Iran. The film will be released this summer from Samuel Goldwyn Films.

What is Somm: Cup of Salvation about?
“Experience the compelling journey of a father and daughter in Somm: Cup of Salvation, crafted by the same team behind the acclaimed Somm documentaries,” the film’s description reads. “Delve into their mission to resurrect the forgotten grapes of their Armenian homeland, navigating through the wreckage of post-Soviet infrastructure and harvesting amidst the chaos of war. Their journey spans from the battle-scarred Caucus Mountains to the secretive vineyards concealed within Iran’s forbidden terrain. The duo help reveal the primal roots of our eternal fascination with wine and its profound impact on humanity’s story.”
Somm: Cup of Salvation is directed by Jason Wise. Wise co-wrote the script with Christina Wise, both of whom also produced the film alongside Jackson Myers, Eric Esrailian, and Armen Kachaturian.
Vahe Keushguerian, Aimee Keushguerian, Moe Momtazi, Naseem Momtazi, and Dustin Wilson are all featured in Somm: Cup of Salvation.
There have been three other Somm documentary films prior to Somm: Cup of Salvation, including 2012’s Somm, 2015’s Somm: Into the Bottle, and 2018’s Somm 3. All three previous Somm films were also directed by Jason Wise.
Somm: Cup of Salvation releases in select United States theaters and on digital platforms on June 28, 2024, from Samuel Goldwyn Films.
All three previous Somm films, meanwhile, are currently streaming on Kanopy and Plex, while Somm is also available to watch on Peacock and The Roku Channel while Somm III is additionally streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
