190-Inch Middle Georgia 16-Point Bow Buck
Matthew Hvizdzak and his family with the amazing 16-point buck he took with a bow in Houston County on Sept. 27. The rack was rough-scored at more than 190 total inches and will likely score best as a non-typical.
“That deer’s going to be lucky to make it to 5.”
That was a neighbor’s comment about the 5 1/2-year-old, 16-point buck killed on Friday, Sept. 27 by Matthew Hvizdzak. The buck came to the attention of Matthew and neighbors when it was 2 1/2 years old and already had an impressive rack as a young buck. They named the buck “Lucky.”
Scott Hodges met with Matthew for a GON cover shoot and was able to talk to the bowhunter about the history with this special buck and the hunt that ended with a 17-yard shot.
