2 Star Wars Movies’ Working Titles Revealed
After the project was officially announced nearly four months ago, Shawn Levy‘s upcoming Star Wars: Starfighter movie has finally received a new update along with Taika Waititi‘s long-in-development Stars Wars project. The Ryan Gosling-led movie is still slated to arrive in theaters on May 28, 2027, while Waititi’s movie currently has no release date attached to it yet.
What are the newly revealed Star Wars working titles?
After five years since it was first revealed, Waititi’s Star Wars project has finally received a working title. According to a new report by Nexus Point News, the movie has reportedly been given the working title of Cosmic Doom and will be made under the production name of Ghost Truck 6. At the moment, further details about its plot and characters are still under wraps.
Waititi will be directing from a screenplay written by Oscar-nominated scribe Tony McNamara. Despite its long development process, Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy previously expressed her confidence in the Oscar-winning filmmaker’s creative process.
“Taika is on Taika time . . . I’ve just continually said to him, look, when you feel that you’re ready and you can really devote the time, we’re going to do it,” She said. “We’ll be waiting . . . I’m just hoping we get there. That will be a great Star Wars movie.”
As for Levy’s Star Wars: Starfighter, the outlet reveals that the studio is planning to start its production this September in London and will most likely last until December. Prior to its official title reveal, the project originally had the working title of Kyber Mist, with production name Blue Mist Productions.
Starring Gosling and Mia Goth, the movie is described as a stand-alone adventure that will take place five years after the events of 2019’s The Rise of Skywalker. According to the studio, “it is an entirely new adventure featuring all-new characters set in a period of time that has not been explored on screen yet.”
