Iran Issues Update on Nuclear Talks With Donald Trump's Administration

By Jason Lemon and Mandy Taheri
Iran's Foreign Ministry issued a favorable statement following "constructive" nuclear talks with representatives of President Donald Trump's administration in Oman on Saturday.
The Islamic Republic's foreign ministry said that the first round of discussions in Muscat had been held in "a constructive atmosphere and based on mutual respect," Iranian state media reported. The two sides agreed to continue talks next week, the ministry said.
Indirect talks took place for over two hours and then Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi and Trump's Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff spoke directly "for a few minutes" in the presence of Oman's Foreign Minister Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, according to Iranian state media.
This is a developing story and will be updated with additional information.
