Toho International has officially announced the Godzilla Minus One theatrical rerelease date for the upcoming screenings of the award-winning epic kaiju movie. Following its theatrical debut, the film has earned praise from critics and audiences alike. It currently has a near-perfect Tomatometer score of 98% on Rotten Tomatoes, based on 206 reviews. At the 2024 Academy Awards, it became the first Godzilla and non-English language film to win an Oscar for Best Visual Effects.
“In postwar Japan, Godzilla brings new devastation to an already scorched landscape. With no military intervention or government help in sight, the survivors must join together in the face of despair and fight back against an unrelenting horror,” reads the film’s official synopsis.

When is the Godzilla Minus One theatrical rerelease date?
In celebration of the King of the Monsters‘ 70th anniversary, Godzilla Minus One and its remastered black-and-white version will head back to theaters nationwide starting on Friday, November 1. Each screening will include more than 13 minutes of exclusive behind-the-scenes content. Tickets for the special screenings are now on sale.
Described as a film about the power of home in the face of despair, Godzilla Minus One was written and directed by Takashi Yamazaki. He previously worked on the visual effects for the 2016 film Shin Godzilla. The movie was led by Ryunosuke Kamiki, Minami Hamabe, Yuki Yamada, Munetaka Aoki, Hidetaka Yoshioka, Sakura Ando, and Kuranosuke Sasaki. During its theatrical run, it garnered a worldwide gross of more than $115 million at the box office.
