Trump’s pick to lead Joint Chiefs of Staff faces Senate confirmation hearing

by The Hill Staff
Air Force Lt. Gen. Dan “Razin” Caine will testify before the Senate Armed Services Committee Tuesday morning on his nomination to be the next chair of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
President Trump named Caine, a four-star pilot, to the role after ousting former Air Force Gen. C. Q. Brown from the position earlier this year.
Trump has lauded his nominee as an “accomplished pilot, national security expert, successful entrepreneur and a ‘warfighter’ with significant interagency and special operations experience.”
The confirmation hearing is scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m. EDT.
