Lawsuit accuses Englewood School Board member Davon Williams of civil theft

Englewood School Board member Davon Williams, a twice-convicted felon who told the public in 2023 that his days of “past errors” were behind him, is accused of civil theft in a new lawsuit.
Williams’ prior felony convictions both stemmed from thefts, one a 2013 theft of money and the other the 2012 theft of a car. Another felony car-theft accusation was bargained down to a criminal-mischief conviction last year.
The new lawsuit accuses Williams of civil theft, conversion, unjust enrichment and breach of contract in a business deal where he allegedly kept money that should have been turned over to the owners of a Denver parking lot.
The lawsuit, filed by Robinson Colfax LLC on June 25 in Denver District Court, alleges that Colfax Parking LLC, a company owned by Williams, entered into an agreement with Robinson Colfax in which Williams’ company would manage a parking lot at 1433 N. Washington St. in Denver. The suit says Williams’ company was supposed to collect parking fees for Robinson Colfax, which owns the lot.
According to the lawsuit, Williams’ company collected fees for the parking lot in April, May and June of this year. However, Williams has failed to pay Robinson Colfax their share of the fees as agreed on in the contract, according to the lawsuit, which claims Williams also failed to provide any accounting of the parking fees his company collected. The lawsuit also alleges that Williams wrote a check to the parking-lot owners in late May for nearly $19,000, but the check bounced.
This lawsuit comes after Williams promised in December 2023 that he was a changed man. During that Dec. 19, 2023 school board meeting, shortly after he had turned himself in to face a felony charge in a 2019 car-theft accusation that was ultimately bargained down to a misdemeanor criminal-mischief guilty plea, Williams read a statement addressing his criminal history.
“I acknowledge the mistakes I made 10 years ago and stand before you as a testament to growth and transformation,” Williams said in his statement. “The man that I was then does not represent who I am today.”
In that 2023 statement from the school-board dais, Williams also said: “I want to assure you that this will be the last time that past errors distract us from our mission as a board because we’re at a pivotal moment.”
Williams’ alleged breach of contract and civil theft from Robinson Colfax occurred entirely in 2025. When contacted by the Englewood Herald, Williams said he had “No comment on pending litigation.”
