Ohio State now a double-digit favorite over Michigan
While the 2024 Ohio State season is only 95 days away, The Game is a more distant 186 days away. A lot can change between now and then.
But, as of Monday night, the Buckeyes are a 10-point favorite over the Wolverines for this year’s version of the rivalry, according to DraftKings.
Ohio State is hosting defending national champion Michigan on Nov. 30. Although the Big Ten has added four new schools, the Ohio State-Michigan matchup is protected and will continue to be played annually during the last week of the regular season.
The Wolverines have beaten the Buckeyes and won the Big Ten three years in a row. That streak included a 2022 triumph in Ohio Stadium, which saw Michigan — and, namely, running back Donovan Edwards — break away in the second half for a 45-23 victory. The Wolverines accounted for five touchdowns of at least 45 yards, including three touchdown passes from J.J. McCarthy.
Before that late November day, the Buckeyes hadn’t lost The Game in Columbus since 2000.
Ohio State significantly cut down on the number of explosive plays it allowed last season but still fell to Michigan, this time 30-24 in Ann Arbor. Buckeyes starting quarterback Kyle McCord threw two interceptions, most notably a game-ender on a potential game-winning drive in the final minute of yet another top-three showdown.
Michigan leads the all-time series, 61-51-6. This is the first time the Wolverines have won at least three straight games against the Buckeyes since 1995-97.
This season, however, Ohio State has returned 11 draft-eligible and starter-level players, added premier transfers and upgraded its coaching staff.
On the other hand, Michigan lost a program-record 13 players to the NFL Draft, seven of whom were taken in the top-100 picks. Plus, the Wolverines overhauled their staff after head coach Jim Harbaugh and defensive coordinator Jesse Minter departed for the NFL’s Los Angeles Chargers.
All eyes are on The Game. All the time.
At the moment, Ohio State is a double-digit favorite.
Five offseason questions for Buckeyes running back room
The Lettermen Row position preview series has moved into “Running Backs Week.” To start things off, we posed five offseason questions about a new-look Buckeyes backfield that features arguably the top tandem in the country.
TreVeyon Henderson decided to return for his senior season, and former Ole Miss star Quinshon Judkins transferred in to form an intimidating 1A-1B punch, which offensive coordinator and play-caller Chip Kelly will try to maximize alongside new Ohio State running backs coach Carlos Locklyn.
That leads us to our first question: How will the Buckeyes determine the workload for their top-two backs? For our analysis, plus the other four questions, head on over here.

Buckeye Bits: Ohio State set to host first official visit weekend
Memorial Day Weekend is over, but the Buckeyes have another big weekend coming up. It may not be a federal holiday, but it’s a holiday of sorts because it’s Ohio State’s first major official visit weekend of the 2025 recruiting cycle.
As of Monday, Lettermen Row had accounted for 16 official visitors ranging from commits and in-state targets to prospects all across the country.
We’re previewing that group, which will be on campus for an official visit that starts May 31 and ends June 2.
