Suspects Arrested in Apple Valley Dollar General Burglary, Tracker Leads to Swift Apprehension

Early on Thursday morning, a call came in reporting a burglary at the Dollar General on Navajo Road in Apple Valley. The alert, sent at approximately 4:49 a.m., sparked a law enforcement response that ended with the arrest of two suspects. Suspects Jose Alberto Hernandez, a 30-year-old Banning resident, and Leah Danyel Moore, a 26-year-old from Beaumont, are now facing charges.
The report detailed that the suspects had allegedly stuffed goods into a bag and fled through the store's rear exit. Crucially, a tracker hidden among the stolen items allowed the burglarized business to relay live updates on the location of the stolen merchandise to the police. This information was swiftly shared with deputies in the vicinity, according to a statement released by the Apple Valley Sheriff’s Station.
Acting on these updates, Deputy D. Padilla located a vehicle parked at a residence on Rabbit Springs Road in Lucerne Valley. The vehicle's occupants, identified as Hernandez and Moore, matched the description of the suspects, and the merchandise's tracker signaled the presence of the stolen items within the vehicle. Authorities detained both individuals without resistance.
The San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner Department's press release specified that Hernandez was booked on a burglary charge, while Moore was booked on additional charges of conspiracy to commit a crime. Each suspect's bail has been set at $30,000. They remain in custody at the High Desert Detention Center.
Investigators are asking anyone with further information regarding the incident to contact Deputy Padilla at the Apple Valley Sheriff’s Station directly. For those wishing to provide details anonymously, calls can be directed to the We-Tip Hotline or information submitted through the We-Tip website.
