Comedian Reggie Carroll is gunned down and killed aged 52 as Mississippi cops charge man with murder

Comedian Reggie Carroll has tragically died after being gunned down in Mississippi.
The 52-year-old, known for touring his stand-up routines across the US, was pronounced dead on Wednesday.
A male suspect has since been charged with the murder of the popular Baltimore-born comedian.
Police officers responded after reports of an 'isolated shooting' in Southhaven, Mississippi's third biggest city, and found 'one male victim suffering from gunshot wounds.'
Mr Carroll was treated by officers who found him alive but he later 'succumbed to his injuries'.
An investigation into the murder is ongoing, with the identity of the suspect charged yet to be released.
Mr Carroll, who was dubbed 'The Knockout King of Comedy', built up a popular following across the US through his comedy performances.
He appeared in several television series, including The Parkers and the TV film, Rent & Go.

The comedian also appeared as himself in Knockout Kings of Comedy and Showtime at the Apollo.
Oscar winner Mo'Nique, a fellow comedian, called Mr Carroll her 'brother in comedy,' in a touching tribute on Instagram.
'This is why I say treat people the best you can because you never know if you'll get a chance to see them again, and the last time me and my brother Reggie, girl, was together,' she wrote.
'That's what it was, an amazing time, being on tour together, being on that road together, what a time, so I have no sad tears because all of our time together was amazing.'
His brother, Jonathan Carroll, thanked those sending condolences.
'To all who have expressed condolences on the passing of Reggie Carroll, your love has been well received-thank you!!!' he wrote in a Facebook post, signing off as the 'Carroll brothers.'
