The Duck Duck Jeep craze started in 2020 when Parliament was seen placing a rubber duck on a stranger’s car.
Parliament said she had done this following a bad encounter with someone while she was visiting a small town in Canada.
Her actions were then adopted by other Jeep drivers to share kindness with others.
Drivers have since placed different colored and sized ducks all over their cars.
The movement swept through North America and even became a global phenomenon.
“Many years later, that single gesture has morphed into the Jeep ducking craze that has swept throughout the Jeep enthusiast community in the United States as well as dozens of other countries around the world,” a statement from Duck Duck Jeep said.
Parliament’s cause of death has not been shared.
Jeepers and Jeep Ducking enthusiasts paid their respects to the influencer on her Facebook page.
Many people praised the social work she had done to share kindness and joy with others.
“I’m so sorry and absolutely shocked to hear of your passing!” one person wrote.
“I know that you have made such a great impact with the duck love you have spread all over.”
“I am heartbroken to learn of your passing,” another fan said.
“You have made a massive difference in today’s crazy world. You will be missed.”
Some Jeepers shared images of their ducks in their tributes or revealed how they would continue her legacy.
Duck Duck Jeep's statement following Allison Parliament's death
Allison Parliament, from Orillia was visiting in the small town of Bancroft in the Canadian province of Ontario. It was there that she unknowingly started a movement of kindness, fellowship, and recognition with that first rubber duck she placed on a Jeep.
After a frightening verbal and physical encounter with someone earlier in the day, Allison bought a little yellow rubber duck and when she encountered a Jeep like hers, she wanted to brighten another Jeeper’s day. She got caught doing it but brought joy and a smile to a strangers face. This caught on and others started Ducking Jeeps just as Allison had.
Many years later, that single gesture has morphed into the Jeep ducking craze that has swept throughout the Jeep enthusiast community in the United States as well as dozens of other countries around the world.
Sadly on June 22 2024, Allison passed away leaving a legacy of kindless and joy in the hands of Jeepers everywhere.
