Shooting on New Tampa Boulevard Leaves One Dead and Two Wounded, Shaking Tampa Community
On Friday afternoon, a deadly shooting claimed the life of one man and left two others with gunshot wounds in Tampa. The Tampa Police Department responded to reports of gunfire in the 8000 block of New Tampa Boulevard shortly after 2:30 pm, where they discovered an adult male, fatally injured and pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation led officers to a nearby vehicle on Bearss Avenue, where two additional shooting victims were found. According to a news release from the City of Tampa website, one of these individuals was also pronounced dead, while the other was transported to a hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening. At this stage, the police believe that all individuals involved were acquainted with each other, this was not a random incident, and there is no ensuing threat to the community.
Authorities have not yet released the names of the victims or the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
