Lettermen Row Recruiting Notebook: Several 2025 prospects have official visits scheduled to Ohio State
COLUMBUS – Once July ends, official visit season begins for the Ohio State basketball program.
Ohio State head coach Jake Diebler and his coaching staff are already scheduled to host several top targets for official visits starting on Aug. 1. Lettermen Row has recently learned of another 2025 prospect who is scheduled to take an official visit to Ohio State this fall.
Three-star Toledo (Ohio) Whitmer shooting guard Antione West tells Lettermen Row that he has scheduled an official visit to Ohio State from Oct. 4-6.
West has been a priority for Diebler for more than a year, and he has started to build a relationship with associate head coach Joel Justus this offseason. He visited Ohio State in June for the Buckeyes’ “Vet Week” scrimmage.
“It was a great experience,” West told Lettermen Row. “Seeing all those guys motivated me a little bit. Met a few people, William Buford who is from Toledo. We had a good conversation, and he gave me his number. It was a great time.”
The 6-foot-3, 175-pound West was named the Toledo Blade Player of the Year and All-Ohio First Team by the OPSWA association as a junior at Whitmer. He also helped lead the Panthers to the OHSAA Division I Final Four.
West also averaged 9.5 points per game, 3.2 rebounds and 3.0 assists in 24.5 minutes for All-Ohio Red on the Nike EYBL circuit this offseason.
Ohio State is set to host eight 2025 prospects for official visits this fall, per the On3 visit center:
– Five-Star Plus+ Huntington Prep (W. Va.) shooting guard Darryn Petersen from Aug. 1-3
– Four-star Georgetown (Ky.) Great Crossing center Malachi Moreno from Sept. 7-9
– Three-star Davidson (N.C.) Day School point guard Isaiah Denis from Sept. 7-9
– Four-star Link Academy (Mo.) shooting guard Davion Hannah from Sept. 21-23
– Four-star Western Reserve Academy (Ohio) power forward Nikola Bundalo from Sept. 21-23
– Four-star New Hampton (N.H.) School point guard Keyshuan Tillery from Sept. 21-23
– Four-star Link Academy (Mo.) power forward A’mare Bynum from Oct. 4-6
– Three-star Toledo (Ohio) Whitmer shooting guard Antione West
