Famous for its gripping storylines, biting social satire and starry ensemble casts, each season of The White Lotus so far has captivated fans.
The same is true for season 3, which is now in full swing on Sky Atlantic and NOW in the UK.
The new instalments transports audiences to a brand new location – Thailand – and explores the lives and antics of a new batch of dysfunctional guests and hotel staff.
Franchise newcomers this time around include Walton Goggins and Aimee Lou Wood, who play an age-gap couple, Sarah Catherine Hook and Patrick Schwarzenegger, who make up part of the Ratliff family, and Michelle Monaghan, Leslie Bibb and Carrie Coon as a trio of toxic friends.
A couple of familiar faces are also back this season, including Natasha Rothwell, who returns as Belinda Lindsey, the spa manager at the Hawaiian resort, and Jon Gries as Tanya’s (Jennifer Coolidge) husband, Greg. Yes, the same Greg that seduced Tanya and then orchestrated her death.
Asked about whether she was watching the third season, Coolidge said during an interview with Forbes: “Yes, I am. And I’m envious as hell.”
She continued: “Mike White, he wants us to have it all, I think. I can’t wait. As you know, [actor] Jon Gries has shown up [again as Tanya’s former husband, Greg]. I hope he gets it! I hope they do something terrible to him.”

Natasha Rothwell plays Belinda Lindsey

Who is Belinda Lindsey? Belinda worked at the Maui location of The White Lotus as the spa manager, developing a friendship with Tanya (Jennifer Coolidge), but was left dejected after Tanya had led Belinda to believe they could start a business together. Although she was always empathetic and positive, Belinda was ultimately left saddened by the broken promise and discarded her business plan.
Speaking about filming the new instalment, Rothwell said on Sirius XM’s The Jess Cagle Show with Julia Cunningham back in August: “It was wonderful being in Thailand. I was there for five months.”
She noted that while filming the new season, she was finishing up editing the last episode of How to Die Alone from Koh Samui.

“It was a feat, for sure. But I have amazing assistants that helped me coordinate remote editing,” she added. “It’s such a beautiful country. And Mike has said in the press that the season is focusing on spirituality and the exploration of that, and Belinda being in the massage arts.”

Where have I seen Natasha Rothwell before? Rothwell earned an Emmy nomination for her role as Belinda in The White Lotus season 1, but aside from that, the actress is known for her hilarious role as Kelli in Insecure, the hit Issa Rae-led series in which she also served as writer and supervising producer. Rothwell has also starred in the Sonic the Hedgehog films as Rachel and in Wonka as Piper Benz, and has also appeared in Brooklyn Nine-Nine, A Black Lady Sketch Show and Love, Victor.
Aimee Lou Wood plays Chelsea

Who is Chelsea? Chelsea is Rick’s girlfriend, who is convinced that their union is an act of fate. Despite signs to the contrary, she believes that they are destined to be together and is determined to help Rick get to the bottom of his issues.
Where have I seen Aimee Lou Wood before? Wood made her on-screen debut in Netflix’s Sex Education in 2019 as Aimee Gibbs, a role which earned her a BAFTA in 2021 and another nomination in 2022. The actress has also performed on stage in productions of Uncle Vanya and Cabaret, with Wood set to star in the upcoming dark comedy film The Gambler Wife, as well as BBC comedy Daddy Issues.
Walton Goggins plays Rick Hatchett

Who is Rick Hatchett? Rick is an enigmatic man, who arrives in Thailand with his much younger girlfriend, Chelsea. Besides their age gap, the couple initially appear to have very little in common. In fact, Rick appears disdainful and disinterested in her most of the time. It’s unclear where his wealth comes from, but he must have it to afford such a lavish vacation.
Asked about the age-gap romance ‘trope’ in an interview with The Telegraph, he said: “Well, I mean, it’s been going on for so long, hasn’t it… an older man and a younger woman, my God, how trite is that?”
He continued: “It’s a trope at this point, so to really discuss it is just a waste of time. Why would you care if two people find peace and a modicum of joy out of another human being? What does it matter to you? I don’t care, I like to see people happy together.”
Where have I seen Walton Goggins before? Goggins is a star of both the small and big screen with roles in the likes of television series The Shield, Justified, Invincible and Fallout, along with films such as The Accountant, Predators, Lincoln, Django Unchained, The Hateful Eight, Maze Runner: The Death Cure, Tomb Raider and Ant-Man and the Wasp.

Who is Saxon Ratliff? Saxon is the eldest son of Timothy and Victoria Ratliff, who works for his father’s company. He is the walking embodiment of ‘toxic masculinity’, basing his identity and self-worth on money, status and seducing women. Perhaps that’s why he’s so frustrated that his unwanted advances towards the female guests at The White Lotus are received poorly.
Talking about how bagging a part in the show was a dream come true, he recently told GQ: “It was funny because every time we would watch it, my family would always just say, ‘Why didn’t you audition for this show? Why aren’t you in this? This role would’ve been perfect for you, blah, blah, blah.’
“Finally, when I got the audition for this, it was like, OK, I got to nail this. I got to get this.”
Where have I seen Patrick Schwarzenegger before? The son of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver, the actor has had starring roles in HBO’s The Staircase as Todd Peterson as well as in The Boys spin-off Gen V. He has also appeared in Grown Ups 2, The Terminal List and Daniel Isn’t Real.
Sarah Catherine Hook plays Piper Ratliff

Who is Piper Ratliff? Piper is the middle child of Timothy and Victoria Ratliff. She is currently at university, where she studies religion and theology, with a particular interest in Buddhism – which is the driving force behind the family’s Thailand trip. She is frequently disgusted by her older brother and hopes that her younger one won’t turn out the same way.
Hook recently said in an interview with WWD that she “felt like a princess” while filming the show.
“It feels almost like a fever dream at this point,” she said. “We all had these stunning, beautiful rooms that we were living in. I felt like a princess. And I knew the second before I even got there, I was like, ‘This is going to ruin my perception of reality.'”
Where have I seen Sarah Catherine Hook before? Hook is known for her role in The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It, but has also starred in TV series like American Crime Story and First Kill.

Who is Lochlan Ratliff? Lochlan is the youngest son of Timothy and Victoria, who is in his final year of high school and assessing options for university. Arguably, a far more important choice he has to make is whether to follow in his brother’s footsteps (a life of work, wealth and misogyny) or instead take his sister’s path in life (focusing on spirituality over careerism).
Where have I seen Sam Nivola before? The son of actors Alessandro Nivola and Emily Mortimer, Nivola starred opposite his sister May in Noah Baumbach’s White Noise. He has also more recently featured in other star-studded films such as Eileen and Maestro. He starred in the series The Perfect Couple on Netflix too.
Leslie Bibb plays Kate

Charlotte Le Bon plays Chloe

Speaking about Chelsea and Chloe’s connection, The White Lotus cast member Aimee Lou Wood recently said it was “friendship love”.
“Well, I think they are very moon and sun energy,” the actress told DECIDER. “They’re the same, but in many ways they are parallel versions of each other.”
She continued: “They’re in such similar situations, but Chloe’s chosen strategy and thought, and Chelsea is just all feeling. They’re the same, but they’re just so different. They’re like two halves of the same person.”

On-screen, O’Reilly is best known for her role in Neighbours as Naomi Canning, but she has also starred in Wentworth, Mean Mums and created the comedy-thriller INSiDE with her husband Peter Salmon.
Shalini Peiris plays Amrita
