Boston Welcomes Milder Weather, As Week Progresses So Does Chance of Storms

Boston residents can breathe a sigh of relief as this week's weather takes a turn for the mild, though a bit unpredictable. The city, fresh from a humid weekend, ushers in the workweek with temperatures comfortably ranging from the mid-70s up through the low to mid-80s. According to an update from NBC Boston, an early morning cold front has paved the way for a drop in humidity, making for a more agreeable Monday.
The relief is short-lived, however, as tomorrow is poised to see temperatures climbing into the mid to upper 80s. NBC Boston notes that despite a high-pressure system bringing drier and warmer weather, humidity levels will remain tolerable, avoiding the oppressive dampness that sometimes plagues New England summers. From partly sunny skies to the possibility of clouds and sporadic showers, Bostonians will experience a variety of weather in just the first few days of the week.
Midweek, a weather system from the Great Lakes is expected to disturb the short-lived tranquility, ushering in increased humidity and potential thunderstorms. According to forecasts from the National Weather Service, there is "a chance of showers, with thunderstorms also possible after 4pm," and "a high near 92." While Wednesday starts mostly sunny, there's a 30% chance of precipitation that jumps to 70% by nightfall for those in the Greater Boston area.
Come Thursday, showers might linger in the early hours, but the skies will clear to partly sunny, as reported by the National Weather Service. Temperatures are expected to dip back into the more comfortable mid-80s. By the time Friday rolls around, high pressure returns, heralding a day of clear, sunny skies and high temperatures hovering around the upper 70s.
As the weekend looms, Saturday should maintain dry conditions with a moderate boost in humidity. The National Weather Service projects a partly sunny day with temperatures cresting at around 80 degrees. However, the respite is brief, as Sunday marks the return of showers and the possibility of thunderstorms, with a 40% chance of precipitation and highs in the mid-80s.
