It’s no secret that fast food chains are a popular cuisine among Americans. Quick service restaurants like McDonald’s, Starbucks, In-N-Out, and Wendy’s are an easy meal to grab when you’re on the go, for prices usually ranking lower than higher-end restaurants. With fast food chains being a common go-to for many, there has to be a favorite —and, well, a not so favorite.Taco Bell has already been declared as the quickest fast fast food restaurant, but which one is the all-around winner? In September, CouponBirds conducted a study to decipher the best and worst chain restaurants in the United States, thanks to customer reviews. Only businesses with four or more restaurants were considered, making the top dog one you’ll probably expect. America’s Favorite Super-Chain Restaurant Chick-fil-A was crowned the best fast food chain by America with a rating of 3.95 out of 5. The study separated the restaurants into sizes, with Chick-fil-A being categorized as a ‘super-chain’ with 1,000 or more locations. The runner up super-chain is Five-Guys (rating of 3.85 out of 5), then Jersey Mike’s Subs (rating of 3.76 out of 5). Waffle House and Starbucks take up the fourth and fifth spots. In-N-Out paved the way for the best medium-sized chain (100 to 1,000 locations) with a rating of 4.21 out of 5, while Acai Republic won for the best small franchise (4 to 100 locations) with a rating of 4.44 out of 5. The study suggests that overall, California and West Virginia take the cake as the states harboring the best chain restaurants.Taco John’s is Ranked The Worst Fast Food Chain In America Much to our surprise, Taco John's ranked the worst fast food chain in the United States, thanks to its cumulative 2.61 out of 5 rating. McDonald’s, Bobby’s Burgers by Bobby Flay, Wahlburgers at Hy-Vee, and Popeyes follow the worst-rated in that order. We are shocked at McDonald’s 2.75 rating, due to its continued cult-like following—but, we’d like to think that the continually-broken soft serve machines have something to do with it. With Chick-fil-A being dethroned just this past summer as America’s fast food favorite, it’s really anybody’s game. Only time (and America’s ratings) will tell which is truly the best!
