Insider Notes: Intel on Georgia’s summer arrivals
Summer session classes will begin at Georgia in a few days and that means the rest of the Bulldogs’ No. 1-ranked 2024 class is set to arrive starting on Tuesday. DawgsHQ has spoken to sources close to the program and we’ve got some need-to-know information for UGA fans about who will be joining the program and when in the coming days.
*** Georgia welcomed most of its class to campus in January with 22 early enrollees. That leaves six guys who’ll be joining the team this summer and based on what we’ve heard, everyone is good to go.
Defensive tackle Nasir Johnson, defensive end Justin Greene, offensive tackle Marcus Harrison, running back Dwight Phillips, and punter Drew Miller are all set to move into their new digs on campus today.
*** That leaves one, very important, 2024 signee — running back Nate Frazier. Based on what we’ve been told, there is no concern over Frazier’s arrival. He’ll be making his way to Georgia a few days later than the other guys because the California native has a later graduation. He is set to move in on June 2, a couple of days before Thru Session orientation on June 4.
*** There are also a few transfers who will officially join the program. Former Stanford tight end Ben Yurosek is one of those players. Yurosek got his degree from Stanford last semester and will be with the team starting today where he’ll be a full participant in summer workouts, film sessions, etc.
Former UCLA long snapper Beau Gardner, also a graduate transfer, will also be joining the team soon but not for another couple of weeks. We’re told that he will get to Athens later on in June.
*** There are a few other prized walk-ons who’ll also be joining the team. We’re told that Clinch County athlete Jeremy Bell is set to move in today. He had Power 4 offers before ultimately taking a preferred walk-on spot. Henry Delp, the younger brother of Georgia tight end Oscar Delp, is also moving in today.
The son of a Georgia legend will also be part of the Bulldog football program in 2024 as a walk-on transfer. Gannon Hearst, the son of Garrison Hearst, is transferring in from Limestone College (Gaffney, S.C.) He had five carries for 84 yards in his first and only season at Limestone College.
