Prince William and Kate Middleton have marked their 14th wedding anniversary with an intimate getaway to a remote Scottish island.
The Prince and Princess of Wales, who tied the knot in a lavish ceremony at Westminster Abbey on April 29, 2011, were seen beaming from ear to ear as they arrived in the town of Tobermory Tuesday.

The pair are currently one day into their two-day visit to Scotland — where they first met while studying at the University of St Andrews in Fife.
On their special day, William and Catherine visited several community hubs in remote villages, where they learned more about farming and hospitality.

The royal couple will also make a private visit to the nearby island of Iona, where they will spend quality time in ancient woodland and get acquainted with the local farm animals.
As for gifts, the future king and queen are looking to stray from UK tradition, which marks 14th wedding anniversaries with ivory gifts.

The pair dated for eight years prior to the engagement, and first met during their respective stints at the University of St Andrews in Scotland in 2001.
In 2004, romance rumors began to swirl after the lovebirds were pictured together for the first time during a ski trip at a Swiss resort in Klosters.
After a brief split in 2007, the pair reunited. Three years later, they announced their engagement to the world.
But news of their engagement only became public knowledge on Nov. 16, 2010, when Middleton debuted the sparkler that once belonged to William’s late mother, Princess Diana.
For their lavish nuptials at Westminster Abbey, Catherine wore a long-sleeved gown designed by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen.
