Daytime Closure Of I-495 North Ramp From GW Parkway On March 11: VDOT
MCLEAN, VA — Motorists traveling the George Washington Memorial Parkway and the Capital Beltway in McLean can expect delays on March 11 due to a daytime closure of the parkway ramp to northbound I-495.Virginia Department of Transportation work crews will be closing the ramp between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m., to conduct tree clearing I-495 Express Lanes Northern Extension (495 NEXT) project.During the closure, drivers traveling north/west on the parkway to northbound I-495 will be diverted as follows:Exit GWMP to southbound I-495Take Exit 44 to Georgetown PikeTurn left at the intersection onto eastbound Georgetown PikeTurn left at the next intersection to the on-ramp for northbound I-495.The ramp from George Washington Memorial Parkway to northbound I-495 will be closed from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 11 to allow VDOT crews to conduct tree cutting operations. Traffic will be diverted to the ramp to southbound I-495 . Drivers will then exit at Georgetown Pike and use the northbound ramp there to access northbound I-495.
