NBA superstar Julius Randle is staying in Minnesota and will sign a huge new three-year, $100million contract with the Timberwolves.

The deal, first reported by ESPN's Shams Charania, will include a player option for the 2027-28 season and see the three-time All-Star stay beyond his initial one year with the team.

Randle was traded from the Knicks to the Timberwolves in October and was heading into free agency this offseason, after helping his team to the Western Conference finals, where they lost to eventual NBA champion Oklahoma City Thunder.

The 6-foot-9 power forward is an 11-year NBA veteran and his new deal in Minnesota will take him through to the age of 33.

Heading into the offseason, Randle was one of the top available players on the free agent market, but he has now been tied down by the Timberwolves.

He had a strong first year for his new team, averaging 18.7 points on 48.5% shooting, as well as 7.1 rebounds and 4.7 assists per game.

Randle's new deal in Minnesota was negotiated by his agents Aaron Mintz and Steven Heumann of CAA, and has now been finalized, per ESPN.

The 30-year-old former Kentucky star began his NBA career with the Lakers after being drafted No 7 overall in 2014.

He spent four seasons in LA before becoming an unrestricted free agent and signing with the Pelicans, before heading to New York a year later.
