EastEnders star Natalie Cassidy has announced her next career move after deciding to leave the BBC soap, and it is a ‘dream come true’.
The soap icon announced her exit from the role of Sonia Fowler earlier this year, 32 years after her debut.
Now, she is taking on a completely new venture as she releases a new book.
Sharing the news in a video with her Instagram followers, Natalie explained that it was ‘all about her life, growing up on the telly, parenting, loss, joy’ as well as other things.
Called ‘Happy Days’, the book is set to be released on October 9, which Natalie revealed was a ‘special day’, as it was also her late mum’s birthday.
‘I’ve always loved books and to have my own one coming out this year on October 9th- is a dream come true,’ she added in the caption.

Her EastEnders co-stars were quick to share their support in the comments, with Chelsea Fox star Zaraah Abrahams writing: ‘So brilliant.’
‘Fantastic,’ Diane Parish, who plays Denise Fox said, while Suki Panesar actress Balvinder Sopal added: ‘That’s awesome, Nat.’
Natalie’s character Sonia was at the centre of EastEnders’ 40th anniversary celebrations last month, as she gave birth during the live episode.

With Sonia having delivered a baby girl, viewers got to vote on her name, ultimately deciding on Julia, after show creator Julia Smith.
Prior to the live episode, Sonia was involved in a dramatic storyline that saw her wrongly imprisoned as she awaited trial for the murder of Reiss Colwell’s wife Debbie.
Fortunately, she was found not guilty of the crime, and eventually worked out that Reiss had been the real killer.
How Sonia will end up leaving Albert Square remains to be seen, but we’re sure there will be plenty of drama ahead.
