Voices only: ‘Father’ and ‘The Lord Your God’
TUCKER, GA. — A Cappella Alliance, a vocal group made up of members of Churches of Christ across the Dallas/Fort Worth metro, recently traveled to Atlanta. The group took part in a Worship Weekend sponsored by the Northlake Church of Christ in Tucker, a suburb northeast of downtown Atlanta. It was the group’s first trip to Georgia.
Here’s a performance of “Father,” a song written by Mills Manna Music, that the group debuted at Northlake.

Clifford Mills, a member of the Lawrence and Marder Church of Christ in Dallas, formed A Cappella Alliance in 1989 at the request of the minister at his former congregation, the Marsalis Avenue Church of Christ in Dallas.
Northlake’s worship minister, Chris Armstead, heard the group at the Agape Conference in Little Rock, Ark., hosted by United Voice Worship at the Pleasant Valley Church of Christ. Here’s another original song, “The Lord Your God,” from that event.
Armstead invited the group to be a part of the Worship Weekend, which also included a talk from Sylvia Rose.
Rose, a graduate of Southwestern Christian College and Harding University and has authored books including “A Guide to Effective Choral Singing.” She’s the founder of Great Heritage Ministries.
