Youth Big-Buck Contest Back With Great Prizes

John Kilpatrick, of Thomaston, stands with Eric Wallace (left) from Adventure Outdoors and Brandt Burley with Woods-N-Water after winning the 2024 GON Youth Shoot-Out on Friday, July 26 at the Outdoor Blast. John won a $3,000 shopping spree and a weekend hunting trip.
The Youth Big-Buck Contest Shoot-Out was just held July 26 during the Ag-Pro Outdoor Blast. We watched another young hunter, John Kilpatrick, compete and win a BB gun shooting contest to earn a $3,000 shopping spree at https://adventureoutdoors.us and a weekend hunt at https://www.woodsnwaterinc.com.
The runner-up prize in the Youth Big-Buck Shoot-Out is a CVA Scout break-action .243 centerfire rifle from BPI Outdoors. Smisson Rigdon collected that prize this year, and a CVA rifle is again part of the contest prize package this season.
BPI Outdoors awards a CVA Scout rifle to the second-place finisher in the BB gun Shoot-Out event. There are 17 winners of weekly prize packages, plus two grand-prize winners again this season.
In addition to those grand prizes for the Shoot-Out winners, each weekly winner—all 17 weeks of Georgia’s deer season—earns a Rugged Road Outdoors 45 V2 Cooler ($300 retail), the all-new Stealth Cam Flashback trail camera ($99.99 retail) and Bowhunter’s Fatal Obsession and Doe Estrus Heat Plus from Scrape Juice. Each youth weekly winner also takes home a one-of-a-kind personalized Shoot-Out jersey with their name on the back—priceless!
The Youth Big-Buck Contest is conducted through the Truck-Buck contest. There is no separate entry process. All kids 15 and younger who enter bucks through Truck-Buck are also automatically entered in GON’s Youth Big-Buck Contest. One $25 membership (a magazine subscription), one entry process—two contests.
The key is that the youth or a parent must have a GON subscription 24 hours before the buck is killed. The contests are a huge perk for GON member families. We have parents each season who try to subscribe and get a young hunter entered after a buck is killed, but at that point it’s too late to participate. We also have grandparents who try to enter a child—but unless that grandchild is a dependent and living with you, he or she can’t enter under a grandparent’s subscription.
Entering a buck is very easy. Go to GON.com, complete the online entry form, upload three pictures, and click send.
A great bonus of the Youth Contest is that kids entered in the contest have a great chance of their picture being published in GON.
