Brookside star rushes son to hospital after accident and is left heartbroken as she’s forced to leave him for five days
A BROOKSIDE legend has revealed how she had to rush her son to hospital after accident.
Soap star Jennifer Ellison, 41, also revealed that the accident happened the night before she was due to work away for five days.

Jennifer is a mum to three boys, and is married to husband Robbie Tickle.
However, she revealed one of son’s had to be taken to hospital after breaking his arm.
The concerned mum shared an update with fans after she had to take her boy to the emergency room.
Sharing a picture on Instagram of the waiting room, she wrote: “Just what I need a day before I travel to London.
“Been here more times this year than in the past five years.”
Jennifer then posted a picture of her boy with his arm in a plaster cast, and revealed the accident had happened the “night before” she was going to be “working away for five days”.
SECOND HOSIPTAL DASH
This is Jennifer’s second dash to the hospital in just a few weeks, after she was taken ill last time.
Last month, she posted a photo of her arm with a cannula attached and wrote: “The gift that keeps on giving,” followed by a sad face.
Jennifer added: “Need to feel well again.”
The actress didn’t expand on what had happened, instead posting the photo onto her Instagram stories.
BECOMING A SOAP STAR
When she was just a teenager, Jennifer shot to fame playing Emily Shadwick on Brookside.
She was hugely popular on the soap, and was on the show from 1998 until it was axed in 2003.
However, the Liverpudlian actress hasn’t ruled out returning to a Brookside revival, even though her character was “killed off” when she fell through a window during a robbery which went wrong.

In an interview a few years ago on Good Morning Britain, host Kate Garraway said: “Brookside was my soap. My mum and dad didn’t really watch soaps, but the Saturday Omnibus edition – I was all over that and so many people still are, aren’t they? And want it to come back!”
Jennifer answered: “Yeah, so many people. I get stopped in the street constantly and of all the things I’ve done, it’s Brookside that people always talk about.”
After the soap ended Jennifer went on to pose for some of the biggest lads mags as well as launching a pop music career.
STAYING THE SPOTLIGHT
Over the years, Jennifer has kept up her profile on TV, which included a stint on Dancing On Ice in 2012.
She also took part in Celebrity SAS in 2022, which saw her lose a huge amount of weight.
Speaking to Closer magazine about the experience, she said: “I lost a stone since doing it.

“I’ve since lost more because it really gave me a kick up the backside, because the gym is daunting to me.
“I was scared of the gym but then after SAS, I said if I could do that, I could do anything.”
Talking of her weight loss she added: “I’m down to 10 and a half stone now and I’m in the gym five times a week – doing a mix of cardio and weights.
“I feel great.”
