Viral Video: Women Stunned When ‘Hiking Reindeer’ Joins Trek

A hike in Hetta-Pallas, Finland turned magical for two women when a “hiking reindeer” randomly joined their trek. Even though the hikers didn’t feed or touch the reindeer, it continued to follow them closely for the whole day.
Maia Helisten shared the video on TikTok, and it got hundreds of thousands of views. The footage shows a reindeer hiking alongside the women, at times walking next to them, in front of them, behind them, or between them.
“Have you ever seen anything like this?” Helisten asks in her TikTok caption.
In the video, she wrote: “We wondered if it joined us to keep us safe.”
The 50-km-long Hetta-Pallas hiking trail is the most popular long-distance route in Finland’s Pallas-Yllästunturi National Park. The national park is a grazing and breeding area for reindeer, so, presumably, it’s not uncommon to spot reindeer on this trek. However, this hiking reindeer went above and beyond to accompany the women on their journey.
