TEMECULA, CA — When planning your next outing to Temecula Valley Wine Country, there is a new must-stop place to toast the Southwest Riverside County sunshine.Welcome to the new Jordan Parker Winery.Located at 35871 Rancho California Road, this winery is now open for a tasting, a glass or carafe of homemade sangria daily, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Note, Fridays and Saturdays at the winery are for those 21 and up, and Sunday through Thursday, all ages are welcome. His family has been in the wine business since 2009, but since 2019, they've steeped their roots in finding new flavors worthy of a growing business.Wines at this new vineyard and tasting room range from their big and bold Syrah to a Mourvèdre with finesse and the highly palatable Orpheum, to name a few. Parker and his family have a flair for what works in Temecula Valley.This month, they're focusing on their first wine club exclusive release, a 2021 Grenache. The varietal offers subtle spice and bright red fruit flavors in what Parker calls a "classic style grenache lovers will be sure to enjoy." Guests also love the Rose, blended from Dolcetto grapes, in a dry, rich-colored wine. The Viognier is crisp, with tropical flavors, which the Parker family knows about. "It's their favorite place," he said. They marketed and sold Island Cuvée, an island-themed sparkling wine, but changed course in 2013. That year, the family had the opportunity to buy a vineyard in Temecula and set aside the part-time idea to plant roots in the valley. "They saw how wine country was growing and saw the potential for a family business," he said. "I was only 17 and still deciding what I wanted." He attended and graduated from the CSU Fresno Viticulture program in 2019, and the family broke ground for the winery in 2022. "We love classic wines, but we are also interested in budding wine drinkers."One way to reach all sides of the tasting aisle is with their new label, Orpheum. Named loosely after the Orpheum Theater, this is a Malbec and Salvador hybrid varietal blend he described for us."Orpheum has cherry top notes and bright fruit, and it's a fun, easy-drinking wine that is somewhat of a chameleon—experienced and new wine drinkers both love it. "When you visit, take your time on the property. Enjoy its sunny patio, sweeping vineyard views, and modern and airy indoor tasting room. On a beautiful Temecula day, the staff will roll open the doors to let in the Temecula Valley breeze. A team of tasting room employees, well versed in all the varietals, can guide your party through a perfect tasting and even help you expand your palate. Still, they are in soft-open, he reminds."Our staff is excited to be here and make mistakes with us, along the way," he said. "This is an exciting learning process, and we rely on them as much as they rely on us.
