Dallas Fire: Crews Battling Massive Blaze At CMC Recycling Facility

Dallas fire crews responded to a significant fire at the CMC Recycling facility early Saturday morning. About 9:13 a.m., the event happened, and the smoke cloud that resulted was visible for miles. Dallas incident-Rescue (DFR) responded quickly to the incident, which started from a pile of scrap metal outside the building. Firefighters arrived at 1729 N. Westmoreland Rd. and saw a large column of black smoke rising from the scrap metal mound. DFR was able to keep the fire restricted to the original pile despite the presence of surrounding structures.According to Dallas Fire-Rescue spokesman Jason Evans, no injuries were recorded as a result of the event. The inquiry into the fire's cause is still ongoing. Although the fire had greatly decreased by 11 a.m., fire men were still trying to totally put it out as of midday on Saturday. A warning was posted on Facebook by the Dallas Animal Services and Adoption Center, which is located across the street from the recycling site. They made the announcement that intake services would be temporarily closed, and they were getting ready to evacuate if needed. The DFR emphasized their dedication to guaranteeing the safety of the surrounding neighborhood as they worked to contain the fire. Firefighters demonstrated their skill and promptness by controlling the fire despite the difficult circumstances. Officials continue to monitor the situation closely in order to identify the source of the fire and guarantee total extinguishment. The public is urged to maintain vigilance and pay attention to information issued by local authorities.
