WORCESTER, Mass. -- The Red Sox saw the next phase of development start Tuesday for the "Big Three" prospect group of Marcelo Mayer, Roman Anthony and Kyle Teel.
In that trio of talent, Anthony stepped into the spotlight and produced immediately in a win for the WooSox.
The Red Sox No. 2 prospect tallied three hits on the night, scored a run and made a pair of fine defensive plays in his first night at Polar Park.
"Going to other levels last year, especially going to High-A, I was pretty nervous," Anthony told reporters. "First time I went out there, that was the first time I really felt it. In that first at-bat, took a little awkward swing on that first pitch. Kind of took a deep breath and my heart rate felt pretty low. Just went out there and have fun."

How Red Sox’s Roman Anthony, Kyle Teel Fared In Triple-A Debut

by Tim Crowley
3 Min Read

Anthony appreciated at-bats in quality left-on-left situations and the quality of umpiring as well. Additionally, the 20-year-old moved well in the outfield in his new center field home in Worcester.
"I can say in the outfield at every level, I feel like the ball has found me, which it always does," Anthony added. "I was just ready for it. Obviously, getting the first couple of ones out of the way helps. Kind of calmed down and just played the game. Same thing with hitting. Getting the first one out of the way is always nice."
It's one game, but the Red Sox should feel pretty good about their youngest Triple-A talent in decades.
